"FRANK TALK" A CHAT WITH FRANK AN EBAY
         CUSTOMER ABOUT PRO DRUMSETS.
One of my favorite reasons to sell music wares online is that I make friends around the world, at least virtual friends! I've been talking to Frank in New Jersey who is in the market for a new set. We talked about vintage Camco & Gretsch and new sets like DW, Sonor, Yamaha etc... Here's part of the conversation you may find interesting.

The set was a "one of a kind" champagne birds eye maple kit. It was built by a group of retiring drum makers at the Japan factory as a tribute to retirement. At the end of Bissonette's show the contest was over. I was sitting with the Pearl sales rep. At the time I owned a music store in Vancouver.

I asked him what he was going to do with the set. He said "Shit, I dunno, the last thing I want to do is stay here and load all those drums...do you want them?" I said "Well OK but I can't pay you." (The set retailed for $17,000 then. I told him I would use them to promote Pearl at the music festivals I was working on. He said "Pay us when you can."
ITWM "My favorite set ever both in appearance and sound was actually a Pearl set I bought in 92. Pearl asked me to judge a drum contest featuring Gregg Bissonette who was the cover of Modern Drummer. Greg was playing Pearl so Pearl sent this huge double bass drumset for his use at the show. 8, 10, 12' 13' 14, 15, 16 and 18 and 2 x 22".
